Review - Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser ♡

I've been wanting to try this product ever since it came out as the prospect of no longer having to sit around feeling all disgusting while waiting for body lotion to sink in in order to achieve soft, smooth skin really appealed to me. I finally picked this up from Tesco a few weeks ago and I was quite excited to try it.

Directions (As taken from the back of the bottle)
1. Use normal shower product and rinse off.
2. Apply this In-Shower Body Moisturiser while still in the shower.
3. Rinse Off.
4. Dry yourself, get dressed and go.

Now, instantly the directions get to me a bit, as I am dubious as to how much a moisturiser can do on wet skin when you are literally just putting it on then washing it straight off again. I suppose this is something I should have considered earlier as this is implied by the description of the product. Nevertheless, I have tried this out anyway and it turns out that I was right to be suspicious. Now don't get me wrong, the formula is very nice and feels quite luxurious and soft. The smell is quite nice; sort of the 'typical' Nivea smell - clean and fresh. I apply this after using a Nivea Body Wash and it honestly doesn't really do anything for me. It feels promising when applied to the skin, however as it is just washed straight off, I don't really see a lasting improvement to my skin. I have quite dry skin on my face, however the skin on my body isn't dry at all, I just happened to accidentally pick this up in the 'dry skin' edition. This also says to me that surely I should see an improvement in the softness of my skin if the product is aimed at dry skin.

Overall, i'm pretty disappointed with this product and I don't think I will be repurchasing. It is more convenient than normal body moisturiser, however I'm not impressed enough with this product to ditch normal moisturiser forever. I'm quite sad to have to give this a bad review as I usually love Nivea products. I'm just glad that this product isn't too expensive, so I haven't wasted too much money buying it.

Have you tried this product? Do you have any body moisturisers you could recommend to me? Let me know in the comments!

Most Wanted Clothing Items | July 2013 ♡

Long Sleeved Paisley Playsuit - Motel Rocks - £45 (x) - I am so in love with this! I love the fit and the     pattern, everything about it is so perfect!

Blue Acid Wash Boxy Denim Cropped Shirt - New Look - £10 (Sale) (x) - I saw a similar one to this in Topshop a while ago, and I still love the look of these cropped shirts. For just £10, this is such a bargain!

Paisley Print Swing Dress - Missguided - £20 (x) - I adore paisley prints at the moment, and this dress displays the pattern so nicely. I can't believe this is just £20!

Pink Frill Front Maxi Dress - Miss Selfridge - £45 (x) - The design of this dress looks like it would be really flattering. I don't really wear a lot of pink, so this would be a really nice one-off dress to wear.

Black Leather Chelsea Boots - Daisy Street - £20 (x) - I've wanted these for such a long time, they'll look so lovely in autumn/winter. I'd love to wear them with a skater dress and tights in the winter.

Trailing Rose Bikini Top - Topshop - £16 (x) - Last week I bought some black high waisted bikini bottoms from Topshop and I've been looking for the perfect bikini top ever since. This one is so pretty and it would go so well with the black bottoms.

Jewellery Haul | Primark, Miss Selfridge, H&M ♡

I've never really been one to accessorize, therefore I made a vow to myself to really branch out and expand my jewellery collection. Thankfully, I managed to find some really nice pieces on the high street recently!

Primark

Bracelet/Cuff

I absolutely love this, it's so different! The colours of the stones are so so pretty, I especially love the turquoise colour. Along with this, the silver pattern is also so cute. It is so much easier to make a statement with this piece, as it is so eye catching and really makes an outfit. I think this cost around £3!

Rings

These rings came in a pack of 4, I think they were only 2 or 3 pounds! For ages I've wanted to wear more rings as I think they look so so pretty, especially when you wear quite a few at once. Again, I really like the turquoise stone used in this ring.

Necklace

I was immediately drawn to this necklace by the detailing of the cute little charms adorned on the silver chain. I think it only cost around £2.50; such a bargain for such a pretty necklace!

New Look

Ring

As soon as I saw this ring in New Look, I knew I had to have it. The colour of the stone is so pretty and I love the pattern as well. I think this only cost £3.99!

H&M

Sunglasses

At the very start of summer I actually bought some really nice vintage style sunglasses from Ebay, however they broke within the first fortnight of me owning them, so I set my sights on purchasing some new ones that would hopefully stay in one piece long enough for me to actually wear them. After a good ten minutes trying on pretty much every style of sunglasses, I settled on these ones. Not only do they look really nice on, they are so comfortable and don't cause that horrible headache that some sunglasses do. I have taken to wearing them on my head when my hair is looking particularly flat, and I actually really like the look of it. As I only payed £6.99 for these, I am very happy!

Urban Outfitters

Earrings

I got these earrings in the Urban Outfitters sale for just £3 and they're so so cute! They're quite different and I don't think I've seen any like this anywhere before so I'm really glad I picked these up!

River Island

Necklace

This necklace feels so chunky and expensive, when I actually only picked it up for £3. This adds so much emphasis to an outfit, especially when paired with a plain top or dress. The design reminds me a bit of the tribal trend, as it is quite edgy.

Miss Selfridge

Flower Crown

I've fallen for the flower crown hype! I tried to resist it for such a long time but they're so cute and pretty. I especially love this one as it isn't too "in your face" and it is perfect for summer/festival times. Plus, it was just £5!

Necklace

I've definitely left the best till last with this necklace. I can't believe how lucky I've been as it was only £5 in the sale! I love this so much, everything about it is so incredibly pretty and the intricate detail just completely makes it for me. This necklace will brighten up even the plainest of outfits and I can't wait to wear it!

Topshop Lipstick | Innocent ♡

I'm so glad i'm finally able to review products from the Topshop make up range, as the Topshop in my town doesn't have a make up section and I therefore can only make purchases when I visit other Topshop branches. I bought this lipstick as a bit of an impulse buy; as it was placed right by the counter where I was queuing. I was torn between 'Innocent' and 'Brighton Rock', but as 'Innocent' is a lot more wearable on a day to day basis, I knew I would get more wear out of it. These lipsticks are only £8, however I think they are easily comparable to slightly more expensive lipsticks like those from MAC. I don't find it to be drying on my lips at all, the consistency is actually really lovely. It lasts for quite a long time, longer than other drugstore lipsticks I've used in the past! I'm excited to give some other Topshop lipsticks a try!

Do you own any Topshop lipsticks? Which shade should I buy next? Let me know in the comments!

Recent Beauty Buys | MAC, Bobbi Brown, Topshop ♡

After weeks of saving money and lusting over products I had seen both on the high street and on other beauty blogs, I finally took two long overdue shopping trips (both in the space of three days, oops!). Although I now have around £3 to my name, i'm really happy with all of the products that I bought and i'm so excited to be able to share them on my blog.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation

I've wanted a MAC foundation for such a long time but i've always been unsure of which one to choose; so actually visiting a MAC store was so helpful as I was able to ask one of the ladies which one she would recommend for my skin type. After describing my skin as dry and prone to redness, she immediately pointed me towards Studio Sculpt. One of the great things about this foundation is that it has really good coverage, yet it doesn't look caked on the face - perfect for covering more red areas of the skin! It's not drying at all and I haven't found that it 'clings' to drier areas of my face, as other products have done many times in the past. As my skin is very fair, I have this in the shade NC15. It is such a perfect colour match for my skin, which makes it so easy to blend and make it appear really natural. The 'nozzle' of the tube makes it really easy to dispense the product, leaving no room for mess or spillages. I apply and blend this foundation using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

This 40ml tube costs £25, which I actually think is really worth the money for such quality.

MAC 210

For a ridiculously long amount of time, I have wanted to invest in a MAC brush that I can use to apply gel eyeliner, and 210 is the perfect match. Although it did cost £16.50 (cry), I just know that I will get so much use out of this as I wear winged eyeliner every day. The thin, pointed brush allows application with precision and ease. I also really like how thin the handle (handle?) of the brush is, as it is really easy to hold.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner (Black Ink)

(I have actually used this, I just really wanted a picture of it looking really pristine and untouched, haha)

After purchasing my MAC 210, I knew there was no way back and I just had to go and buy the holy grail of gel eyeliners; Bobbi Brown Long-Wear. This set me back another £17.50, but just like with the MAC 210, I know that I am going to use this product so much as I wear eyeliner every day. The consistency is so nice and allows the gel to cling to the brush, making it so easy to apply. It lasts for a really long time; after just a few uses I have noticed how much longer it stays compared to other high street liquid and gel eyeliners I have used in the past. The glass packaging makes it feel really luxurious and the monochrome lid looks so cute and professional, I love having it in my make up collection!

Topshop Blush in Head Over Heels

Can I firstly just point out how pretty the packaging of this product is?! I love it so much! Head Over Heels is a beautiful coral-pink cream blush. It is also only £6 which is such a bargain. This product is so easy to blend and it just looks so pretty on the cheeks and gives a healthy glow. I'm so excited to continue using this as it is actually the first cream blush I have owned, so it is really fun being able to experiment with new techniques.

So those are my recent beauty purchases! I also bought lots of jewellery and clothes on these shopping trips and i'm a bit unsure whether to do blog posts on them or not. If you'd like to see haul posts on the jewellery or clothing I bought, please let me know in the comments or you can tweet me!

Prom ♡

My Prom took place on the 27th June and it was honestly such a good night. (largely due to the party afterwards, but anyway..)
I had been really nervous in the days running up to Prom as my dress was a lot more subtle and understated than many of the dresses chosen by other girls in my year. Nevertheless, I decided to team my dress with sparkly jewellery in order to make it much more glamorous and eye catching.

Hair & Make Up

Many girls got their hair and make up professionally done, however I decided to do both myself as I honestly don't really trust anyone else to do it exactly how I wanted it, plus being able to spend ages perfecting my make up seemed like a bit of a treat for me, as I am usually rushing out of the door while quickly applying some mascara. As I have very long hair, I decided to just put lots of curls at the very bottom of my hair, as it looked cute and pretty without it being over the top. For my make up, I made sure I had lots of coverage on the skin, and I went for a kind of smoky brown eye look with black liquid eyeliner.

Products

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Loreal Superliner
Urban Decay Naked Palette (Virgin, Half Baked, Darkhorse)
Sleek Contour Kit
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle

My Dress

I actually got my dress for £30 from Missguided. I'm so glad I did as it is actually such a beautiful dress, from the material it is made from to the way it falls when I wear it, it just looks lovely. I always wanted to have a small budget for prom, as it is essentially one night out of your whole life, and spending hundreds of pounds on just one night seems crazy to me.

(My clutch bag was from New Look, I think it was about £9)

Have you had your prom recently? Tell me what it was like and what you wore in the comments!

Benefit Erase Paste | No.1 Fair ♡

I've wanted this concealer for such a long time, so I was so happy when I picked it up yesterday! I spent so long putting off buying it due to the rather large price tag and stuck to my old trusty Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I'm so glad I finally managed to pluck up the courage to buy this, as the price really reflects the quality of the product.

I got this in the lightest shade, as I am very pale. When I actually opened the little pot I was initially quite worried as it looked a lot darker than I had envisioned. However, when I actually applied it (using a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush) it blends in to the skin really well and doesn't leave any orange patches. The creamy consistency is really nice as it really allows you to do a lot of blending and make it look really natural. I'm so glad I bought this product and i'm excited to continue using it!

Have you got any recommendations for other concealers I should try?

Do you know of any other great Benefit products I should look out for?

Please let me know in the comments!

Xx
