New Ear Piercings! | Forward Helix & Second Lobes ♡

After months and months of scrolling through Tumblr looking at pretty ear piercings, I finally plucked up the courage to go and get some myself.

I had wanted my second lobe piercings for a really long time, as I got my first lobe piercings when I was around 7 years old and I always thought that just one set of lobe piercings looked a bit boring. I love having two piercings here now as I can wear more than one pretty pair of earrings! My seconds have been pierced with small silver studs, they're so cute! This piercing did not hurt at all, especially as it is done with a gun so it lasts for about a minute in total.

Forward helix is a piercing that I had never really seen anyone with. I had seen all of the gorgeous images of them on Tumblr, however nobody I know has this. I got this pierced minutes before getting my second lobes done! This is pierced with a needle, so as you can imagine this process is a bit longer, however it only took around 3 minutes at the most. Honestly, it hurt a bit more than I expected but I guess that is different for everyone. It's so so pretty and I love it so much!

(About an hour after getting them pierced)

(Today, 2 days after getting them pierced)

Get The Look: Cara Delevingne ♡

Cara Delevingne is one of the most talked about models at the moment. With celebrity friends like Rihanna and Rita Ora and romantic links to One Direction member Harry Styles, there is a lot of hype and attention surrounding her. Also after winning Model Of The Year 2012 at the British Fashion Awards, Cara has gone on to do things like taking the front cover of Vogue Magazine.

I have been doing a bit of research on Cara recently, so I thought it would be a fantastic idea to do a 'Get The Look' post, where I take a candid picture of Cara and do my best to find high street/cheaper alternatives for the clothes she is wearing.

The Look

Camel/Beige Skinny Jeans

Both options I found for these trousers were from River Island.

River Island, £20

River Island, £35

Plain White Tee

Plain white t-shirts are great for layering as they go with pretty much every outfit.

ASOS, £16.

River Island, £14.

In this look, Cara uses a thin cardigan just to layer up the outfit and add a bit of extra warmth.

ASOS, £20.

Leather Jacket

A leather jacket is such a staple piece, and fits in perfectly with Cara's edgy street style.

Topshop, £52.

River Island, £65.

Studded Biker Boots

In addition to the leather biker jacket, the studded biker boots that Cara wears really help to add an edge to a basic neutral outfit.

ASOS, £84.

Daisy Street, £23.99

Black Shoulder Bag

This black bag helps to tie together the outfit really nicely.

ASOS/New Look, £19.99

Topshop, £42.

So there you have it, that was my attempt at recreating one of Cara Delevingne's looks! I really hope you enjoyed it and please please feel free to leave a comment, as I absolutely love receiving them!

My Bath-time Essentials!♡

It's finally Friday! I always see Fridays as the perfect opportunity to relax and wind down after a stressful week, although a relaxing bath would not be complete without my favourite products! This post is also sort of inspired by Zoella, as I recently watched her video about her pamper night essentials.. So here are my favourite products that I use to help me wind down and relax!

The Perfect Bath
The Bath Bomb

I love using bath bombs in my bath, especially when they turn the water a pretty colour and produce gorgeous smells. When I visit Lush, I always try to stock up on products to last me for a few baths, but I can just never seem to get enough! There isn't a Lush in my local area, so I also have to wait quite a while until I can buy more.. :(

Here I have the Ickle Baby Bot. This bath bomb promises to help me fall asleep, so this will be perfect in a relaxing bath! Other favourites of mine are Fluffy Egg, Sex Bomb and Space Girl. I don't really have a preference, just as long as they smell nice, do good things for my skin and smell nice (qualities that all Lush bath bombs have), I am happy!
I place this in the bath when the bath is about half full.

The Bubbles

Bubbles are an absolute essential bath-time product! A bath is not a bath without bubbles. I have no preference for bubbles, I just use whichever ones we happen to have in the house. If anybody knows of any really good bubble bath that I should try, please let me know in the comments!

The Candles

Candles are so so relaxing, especially when placed around a bath. My favourite thing to do is place lots of small candles around the bath, then turn out the lights and listen to music.
I tend to use one scented candle, usually a Yankee Candle, and then use a few unscented tealights around the bath, as I feel that if the tealights had a scent; it would be a bit overpowering alongside the scent of the Yankee Candle.

Fluffy Towels is such a fresh and clean scent, I love it! Some of my other favourite scents include Strawberry Buttercream and Mango Peach Salsa.

The Face Mask

One thing I love about baths is that you can just take an hour or two out of your evening to really look after yourself and take care of your skin after a long and hard week. For me, this means spending extra time and attention on looking after my skin, as I feel that it gets neglected during the week due to exposure to different weather conditions.

I haven't really tried out many face masks, as I don't use them too often, so I hardly ever feel the need to go out and buy a new one. I really like this mud mask from Superdrug as I find that it is very hydrating and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. If you have any recommendations for face masks I should try out, please let me know in the comments!

The Playlist

Music makes a relaxing bath absolutely perfect. Here are a few of the songs featured on my bath-time playlist:

Ride - Lana Del Rey
Lies - Marina and The Diamonds
Sink Or Swim - Lewis Watson
Windows - Lewis Watson
Lamplight - Lewis Watson
Overjoyed - Bastille
I Know You Care - Ellie Goulding

And Voila!

There you have it, those are the products and techniques I use to create the perfect bath. I hope you liked it!

Dainty Doll Blushers | Fragrance Direct ♡

After receiving the discounted Essie nail polishes last week, I decided to go on a hunt for more legitimate websites selling popular make up brands for discounted prices. It was then that I saw that Fragrance Direct were selling cosmetics by Dainty Doll. I decided to order two blushers, each costing just £1.99 each compared to the £9.00 retail price!

I love the packaging, it's so cute!

003 - Money Talks

Money Talks is a really cute dusty pink shade that will look great used for contouring and highlighting. It's quite an unusual shade, as it is a lot less pink than blushers I am used to purchasing. It is very pigmented so although it is buildable, it will look very strong and dark if applied in large quantities. I can't wait to try this out!

004 - You Are My Sunshine

(You Are My Sunshine, left, Money Talks, right)

You Are My Sunshine is a lovely coral-y pink with gorgeous gold shimmers. It looks quite bright and scary in the pot, but applied lightly it makes a lovely subtle, natural looking blush. It will look so nice in the summer and I can't wait to try it out!

Essie Nail Polishes for £3.99?! | Xtras Online ♡

A few days ago, I read a blog post about a website called Xtras Online. The website offers branded hair and beauty products at discounted prices. In the past, I had always been a bit hesitant to order from these types of sites as I doubted the legitimacy and always thought that they would try and scam me, however after hearing good reviews on the website, I decided to give it a go.

I ordered two Essie polishes and a Rimmel eyeshadow trio, which all came to just over £10. Another thing I love about this website is that free delivery is available when you spend over £10, which is such a small amount compared to a lot of online shops!

The two Essie polishes I got were 'A Crewed Interest', a gorgeous peach colour; and 'We're In It Together', a pretty pale pink with gorgeous shimmers of blue and silver.

These are actually the first Essie polishes I have owned, as their usual retail price of £7/8 has always seemed a bit too steep for me. The only downside to ordering Essie polishes from Xtras Online is that there are limited shades, however there are still some gorgeous colours on there!

I was also very impressed with the delivery of my products, as I got the dispatch email on Monday and received the parcel on the following Wednesday! Overall, I am very very impressed with the bargains available on Xtras Online and I will definitely be ordering from there again very soon!

The Beauty Blogger Tag!♡

I thought it was about time that I did a tag, as I haven't done one in a while! I feel like a lot of tags aren't appropriate for me or my blog as I haven't been blogging for a very long time and i'm still learning and gaining experience. However, I really like the questions in this tag and think they fit in well with my blog! :)

1. Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I started blogging due to being an avid reader of other beauty blogs! I also always watch fashion and beauty related videos on YouTube, and i've always thought that it must be so much fun to talk and write about things that you are really interested and be able to share them with other people! I started blogging in December, so I have been blogging for around 4 months.

2. Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
This sounds like such a typical and cliche answer, but i've honestly loved Zoella's blog for such a long time. It was one of the first beauty blogs I started reading.

3. What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?
I can't really remember the first hyped product that I bought, but the most recent was the Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub. It is definitely worth the hype, even if the price tag is a little high! I actually did an entire blog post about this product, which you can find here.

4. What are you five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty Blogger?
1. Being able to share my views on products with other people! I love the thought of people considering buying a product after reading about it on my blog.
2. Talking to all of the other lovely people that also run blogs. It's such a welcoming community, and I never feel looked down on due to my age and lack of blogging experience.
3. The fact that I can talk to other people and have other people talk to be about beauty related topics! I'd hate to try and discuss things like new products and reviews with someone that has 0 interest in beauty and finds the topic really boring.
4. Getting comments on posts that I write! I absolutely adore getting comments on my posts, the feeling that someone out there is taking the time to read my blog is so lovely.
5. Being able to take time out from things like school to just spend maybe one hour taking pictures and writing a new blog post - being able to write about things that I have an interest in and think other people will too.

5. What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger?
From being a Beauty Blogger, I have learnt that honesty is so important when writing reviews and giving opinions on things, as if you're not honest, there's no point!
I have also learnt that I should consider extending my vocabulary as I often tend to repeat the same words over and over in just one blog post.

6. Have you changed anything since becoming a Beauty Blogger?
I suppose I have changed the way in which I decide whether to purchase a product. It is no longer just whether the product does the job, I now have to consider things such as the longevity, smell etc....
I have also changed my budget on make up, as before becoming a Beauty Blogger I owned absolutely no products from MAC, the thought of spending £14 on a lipstick just seemed ridiculous to me. I guess it also counts that I got a job around the same time that I started blogging, so I have learnt to treat myself every now and again.... ;-)

7. What advice would you give to a Beauty Blogger just starting out?
As I haven't been blogging for long myself, I don't really think I am in a position to give a lot of advice to anyone. All I would say is that as long as you are happy with your blog and the things you write about, then go ahead and write to your heart's content. Although you want others to read your blog, you should always make sure that you believe in what you write and that your blog is what you want it to be. (went a bit deep there, I feel like i've just run for president or something)

8. What are your top five make up brands?
1- I would have to say that MAC is my number one. Although I only own a small amount of products from this brand, I just love pretty much everything about it. I even love visiting the MAC shops, just how everything seems so professional and fancy.
2- Rimmel takes the number two spot. They're such a great all round brand, I love their face products such as the Match Perfection Foundation, and I love their eye products like their Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner. They're in the perfect spot on the price scale too, high end drug store, but a bargain compared to premium make up brands.
3- No7 is my number 3 spot. I own quite a few make up products by No7, and they're so high quality and worth the money. I feel like their make up is quite basic, but it all feels so nice on my face and never irritates my skin or eyes at all.
4- MUA - Admittedly, some MUA products can be quite hit and miss. However, I use my MUA Heaven & Earth palette pretty much every day and I love it, the fact that it was £3 is unbelievable. Such fantastic value for money.
5- Collection (2000) - This gets the number 5 spot as I don't actually own many products by this brand, however their lasting perfection concealer is one of my favourite products of ALL TIME, so they deserve to be on here somewhere.

9. Recommend your top 5 beauty products.....
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - This foundation is such an incredible colour match for my fair skin. It has great coverage, and I love the finish on my skin! An absolute staple in my every day make up routine. (i've actually done a blog post on this foundation, click here to see it!)
MUA Heaven & Earth Eyeshadow Palette - This palette is the perfect mix of neutral browns and golds. I use this palette pretty much every day to create natural, neutral eye make up looks. Don't even get me started on the fact it only cost me £3!!
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle - This was one of the first products I bought from MAC, after hearing Louise talking about it on her YouTube. I really love this product, it is the perfect highlighter, making my skin look radiant and healthy all day long.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara - Another product from Rimmel! I love this mascara as it is really jet black so creates such a dramatic eye look. It is a fantastic mix of volumising and lengthening, which I often find isn't the case with many drugstore mascaras.
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner - Liquid eye liner is an absolute essential for me now. I literally feel naked when I am not wearing it, it's sort of like it gives me confidence in my eyes...(if that makes sense at all) and I can't really imagine not wearing it! This eyeliner is easy to apply, lasts all day and is really pigmented. Perfect!

I'm sorry that this post is so long and wordy, I really hope it didn't bore you!

First Thoughts: Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub ♡

The Breakfast Scrub is a product that I have lusted after for such a long time due to the amount of fantastic reviews written about it and how many beauty vloggers on Youtube talk about it! Despite how much I wanted this product, I could never quite warrant spending £9.50 on a body scrub. However, Boots are currently running a fab 3 for 2 offer on loads of products including the Soap & Glory range, so I ended up getting it as part of a really good deal!

I need to point out that I have only used this product once. All of my views and opinions are based on one use!

Firstly, I absolutely love the packaging! The colours and fonts used on all Soap & Glory products are always really nice, it's one of the things I like most about their products. I also feel like the size of the tub is really good, like it feels like it was worth the money.

The smell is one of the main things about this product that makes it so famous. The very first time I smelt it, I honestly wasn't keen. This is probably due to the fact I don't like coffee scents, and that is what the smell reminds me of. I think that the smell has grown on me though, it is very sweet and sugary. When using this in the shower, the smell just reminded me of breakfast and coffee, which i'm guessing is how it got the name 'The Breakfast Scrub.'

The packaging reads 'oat, shea butter and sugar body smoother with organic cupuacu bio scrubs, bananas, almond & honey extracts.' I adore the fact it contains such fresh and natural ingredients, as I like the thought of all of the natural ingredients working wonders on my skin.

I used this body scrub after shaving my legs (...was that too much information?) and I loved the way my skin felt afterwards! It felt so soft and rejuvenated. The packaging reccommends using a body lotion or moisturiser after using this product, however me being the lazy person that I am, didn't bother. Even without using a moisturiser or body lotion afterwards, my skin was noticeably softer than usual after using The Breakfast Scrub, so I am very happy and I will continue to use this product often!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - 010 Light Porcelain ♡

A few months ago, after many failed attempts at finding the perfect drugstore foundation, I decided to give up and settle on using mineral powder foundations. However, a few weeks ago, during a 'free delivery' offer on the Superdrug website, I decided to try out the new Rimmel foundation, Match Perfection.

The main thing that drew me to this foundation was the fact that it is really pale; which is something that I can rarely find in drugstore foundations. The shade is absolutely perfect for my skin tone, and hides all patches of redness on my skin.

The Promise

'A match so perfect, it's undetectable in any light! Light Perfecting radiance foundation. Traceless coverage and perfectly flawless skin under any light Lasts all day. SPF 18.''

Firstly, I completely agree with the fact that the foundation lasts all day. This is such an important quality for me especially since I have school all day and every few days I work all night, so it is essential for my foundation to last and keep my skin looking flawless!
The coverage is fantastic, and the consistency is thin, yet not watery!
I apply this foundation using my Real Techniques foundation brush, and it blends into the skin so nicely! I still use concealer (Collection Lasting Perfection) with this, as I need some extra attention on the dark circles underneath my eyes. It is really easily buildable and doesn't give a caked effect at all. It is such an everyday essential and I adore using it!

MAC Blusher - Peachykeen ♡

Last week I took another cheeky trip to MAC with Lucy and I just couldn't resist buying something! I was torn between trying some eyeshadows or sticking to face products, but at the moment I am quite happy using my MUA Heaven & Earth palette for everyday eyeshadow looks, it is a much cheaper alternative! Surprisingly, I have never really heard too much about MAC blushers, so I decided to try one out! There were so man gorgeous shades but I finally decided on purchasing Peachykeen.

Peachykeen is a sheertone shimmer blush. The coral pink blends so nicely with the golden flecks (flecks? is that the word?) and creates a gorgeous shimmer on the cheeks. I find that this blusher really brightens up my face, especially when used alongside MAC's Mineralise Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle. When used together, these two products create the perfect radiant shimmer on the cheeks.

In my opinion, this blusher is well worth the £17.50 price tag, as after all, you are paying for the quality. As always with MAC products, I love the packaging as it is so simple and professional. This blusher will be great for travelling as it is very easily transportable and comes in a small, secure compact. I am planning on buying another (couple ;)) of blushes from MAC in the future!
